  • what is the difference between a refurbished laptop and a new laptop?

Posted by admin on January 11th, 2010 and filed under refurbished |

i would like to nuy a netbook from canada computers but it is refurbished but it is $259.99 but i can get the same product for $299.99 at bestbuy but i don’t know what the difference is between the two?

The refurbished one could have had a bad part and the manufacturer replaced it and they are now selling it as refurbished.

refurbished means reconditioned, whichever problem parts there were have been fixed and upgraded parts installed to make the pc work better.

Refurbished: Its a laptop that was previously owned by someone, it broke, that person sent it back to the manufacturer, they repaired it and are now reselling it as "Refurbished" meaning that you buying a like brand new laptop but that has some small wear from the previous owner.

Brand new: Fresh off the assembly line!

A refurb just means it has been used before and cannot be sold as new.

Refurbished, or refurbs, mean that they were returned to the manufacturer (for any number of reasons) and are being resold.

These most-often come with factory warranties, so you should be OK.
