Also, if you put in a request for another post how long does it take to find out where you will PCS to? And how far in advance to you get the orders before you leave?

anywhere from 2 weeks prior to having to report to several months. we got our latest set the Monday before Thanksgiving.. to report NLT March to Okinawa Japan. not a whole lotta time to get stuff done that’s for sure.

   Varies from orders to orders. Shortest orders we had was 29 days from the time he got them to the time we left, the longest was 6 months. It will depend on the branch, your MOS/Rating and other factors as well.
