  • Can I put 2 ethernet cables in a router and share broadband between 2 PCs and a laptop?

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under pcs |

I’m planning on getting a laptop and right now I have 2 PCs side by side sharing internet through a router and an ethernet cable. There are still slots in the router so could I connect an ethernet cable with the router and the laptop? Or is there a more complicated process? :P

The process is very simple an easy to do.
Do have a wireless capable router? If so, did you planning to access the internet through the wireless? if you use this mode, then you must enable your wireless access and configure the SSID in your router and set securities on it (WEP, etc). This configuration must be on your laptop wireless connection to the access router.
      Or
If you just want to add another Ethernet cable to the one of the open ports on your router and that it. I’m assuming that you are using DHCP and NAT on your actual router configuration?
For more details please let me know which way you want ot connect to your router.
