      But Apple is itself …
But Apple is itself attacking Windows without mentioning the name of the OS, just “Hi, I’m a Mac, and he’s a virus ridden PC.”

Microsoft is just using the same tactic, but is attacking from an economic perspective.

      Windows is so …
Windows is so unpopular, they can’t even mention the name of the product in the ad. Instead, they’ve rebranded it as the “PC”, how creative!

I doubt many people are exactly shocked to learn they can get an inferior product for cheaper. Why are Macs more expensive? It’s not just the features, it’s the implementation stupid!

I think a lot of people will pay a little more for something that doesn’t drive them insane.

Ok, so we will put iWork as an equivalent to Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook. The only problem is that Small Business comes with Publisher as well as Accounting Express in addition to what iWork offers.

      UAC works fine.

The problem with Vista was Microsoft rushing it out the door. Vista’s issues are mostly irrelevant with SP2, and Windows 7 builds on top of it to deliver a more refined OS. Think the transition from Windows 2000 to XP.

It’s by far the best operating system written for the vast majority of consumers -Ed Mendelson commenting on Leopard, PC Magazine

Vista has failed to catch on with mainstream computer users, while businesses have shunned it outright -Paul McDougall, InformationWeek

What do you have from the IT media???

i would compare it to the small business edition because of the MS Exchange support with Mail, iCal and Address Book.

      The $70 version on …
The $70 version on Amazon is the home and student version which includes Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and OneNote. The $60 version at a student discount is the Office 2007 ultimate version and the ACM subscription offers the complete version as well. Office Home & Student is the most comparable to iWork because they both have a word processor, spreadsheet, and a presentation application.

vista’s solid as for me, so don’t say stability, lol.

      and the flaws?

    22. thebsdguy Says:

      businesses don’t …
businesses don’t stay with XP because they hate vista, there are a multitude of reasons.

for one, many businesses use legacy applications, possibly even old 16-bit software. vista’s design breaks a lot of legacy software, making it undesirable for businesses.

two, switching to vista is easy for most users, but businesses still have to train a lot of employees to deal with a new OS. that’s lost productivity, and they still have to pay them for the time they were there.

You are correct and don’t forget that enterprises switch to windows 7 because of the XP mode feature in 7.
