Aren’t all laptops built with the same thing inside? Like for a basic laptop, Intel and NVDIA are in all of em.(The same versions of them) Doesn’t that mean their exactly the same (Saying the memory and specs are same) or is their another part of the laptop that makes em different?
All opinions appreciated.
I bought a Gateway and the hinge broke after a year. The insides may be the same, but the quality of the laptop itself does matter.

brand plays a small part. if its a more trusted brand (sony, dell, Hewlett-packard) the build quality will probaly be higher

Here’s why you should get a Mac:: There are NO CONS. The MacBook does both WinBloze and OSX, no other computer can make that statement. You have the best of the best. Apple Stores are popping up all over and you can make an appointment for a time and date, bring your computer there. They will troubleshoot it and fix it if it’s a software problem it’s FREE. What other computer company has stores and can make that statement? Get the 2.4 GHz with 4Gigs Ram and you got a speed machine like mine. The WinBloze people may not like a Mac computer but I’ll bet they all have iPods. Go Mac and Never Go Back. Mac, the User Friendly Computer.
If you read the questions here you will notice that most problems are about every computer except a Mac.

well there is mac and P.C. they are both set up a lot differently. you can do more things on a mac, like create a whole song, or make a movie, etc. but i think a P.C. is easier to use

Most laptops are different if they are made by different brands. Some brands have alot more money for research and some other brands might specialize in laptops. Always review laptops because some might sound great but have problems like slow start up or poor graphics.

Yes, brand has something to do with the laptop. These are the common differences between brand:
1. Pricing, some brands like HP can afford to make laptops slightly cheaper than companies like Dell
2. Max performance available, Dell has better options than HP for performance, HP goes to 2.4ghz tops with a dual core, Dell goes to 2ghz quad core or 2.8ghz dual core
3. Quality of how it’s built, some brands take pride in their products so they have them better built on the inside than others
4. Customer Support, if you consider it
5. How long the battery will last
6. Quality of parts people don’t look at or don’t know much about, like Motherboard and Ram mhz.

A good brand has lots to do with a quality of it’s laptops. You should trust well established brands, at least because they are well established, make good products and has good after sales service.
But according to my personal experience buying laptops, please be attentive when you buy a new laptop, it should come SEALED and never been opened yet. Don’t compromise with an already opened, brand new laptop, because often times it is a reject, meaning that someone has opened it, used it, found some problems with it, and took it back to the store.

No, they are not all the same, the brand depends on what you are looking for, like IBM is good for business and alien ware is good for gaming, Alien ware would be built with a better cooling fan, to cool of all the gadgets that work for gaming, it would have a great processor and the graphics card would be good. They don’t all have NVIDIA, some have ATI, and even then, they are not all the same version. Some one may have NVIDIA 9800 GTX plus, and some one may have NVIDIA 2100, you probably want to know witch one is better, now, Nvidia is more expensive and ATI is cheaper for what it does, ATI is currently better than Nvdia, but don’t be fooled, it is one card that makes it better. Thats just graphics cards, there is also the hard drive, thats the amount of space, the RAM thats how fast it will be when multiple programs are up, and the computer case, thats what your computer looks like on the outside. Now, not all computers have the same processor, and they are not all intel, how ever most people have intel, there is also AMD, but I don’t know about processors. Make sure you have atleast 3-4GB RAM, because it will be a good speed, you also need and internet connection, so get like 3GB internet. The computer case matters, you can upgrade your computer but, let’s say taking out the hard drive and replacing but it may not fit in the computer case, so you have to buy another, thats ok, but make it look cool.
hope this helped.

Some laptops do have the same hardware specs. But they also differ on system reliability and technical support.
