This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the Dell Studio Hybrid, a desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Configured with an Intel Core 2 Duo T2390 (1.86 Ghz) CPU, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250 GB 5400 RPM hard drive, an 8x slot-loading DVD burner, and an Intel X3100 GPU. The colour is “Ruby”, and cost me $744 Canadian with taxes direct from Dell.

how does it run 1080p or 720p videos? Does the integrated graphics do the job? That is probably the only requirement I have for media stations and I am interested in this model b/c of the small size and convenience.

Temperature really isn’t an issue - it’s designed like a laptop, and I’ve never seen a Dell laptop with a temperature problem unless it’s defective…

Most of them go back to the PR companies that send them to me, or I send them back for refunds if I bought them and I don’t want to keep them. I don’t have 10 laptops sitting around if that’s what you’re thinking. ;-) - Jason

Small and great looking aren’t very necessary. xD

There’s no doubt a custom computer can blow this one away on the quiet and speed portions.,

The graphics on the Dell Studio Hybrid cannot be upgraded. It’s basically a laptop without the screen. If you wanted a gaming computer, sadly you picked the wrong product.

i’m not sure of any brands but if you’re looking for blu ray playback capabilities, look for a PC with a dedicated graphics card such as the nvidia geforce 9400 GT.

      i agree with you, …
i agree with you, but for some ppl, size, and noise are more important than performance. for a gamer, yes build your PC, but for a basic home/office PC buying your PC is almost the same as building it. according to TigerDirect, but for gamers, building your own will save you hundreds of dollars. (building my own actually saved me over 1000 in comparison to an alienware with the same specs!) not to mention this PC is mostly for applications like word processing, etc
