Haha, yea try using …
Haha, yea try using WINE to compress video.
To be honest, Ubuntu isn’t that bad. It just depends on what you’re doing. I use Ubuntu for WiFi cracking and batch file viruses (nothing fancy) and Windows for gaming, video editing, photoshop, etc.

@SLKclan
So Sony …
@SLKclan
So Sony Vegas 7 comes with Windows now? News to me.
On ubuntu I can install audacity without writing lines of code. My audio drivers worked out of the box.
Sure, it’s no Sony Vegas, but I’m sure there are similar programs out there. If not, WINE will almost certainly run it.

Ubuntu comes with …
Ubuntu comes with compiz preinstalled. Right click on desktop, Change desktop background, Effects, then “Extras”.
You can configure in detail with compizconfig-settings-manager, a package you may need to download.
Console command for that is;
sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager
Or use the package manager in Administration menu.

Think of it this …
Think of it this way:
Let’s say I want to edit a song. In Linux I have to find a decent editor, write 8 billion lines of code, realize your audio drivers didn’t install right, code all through the drivers, reboot, none of it worked out just right, go online, wait for answers, finally get it right, still some errors but after this many tries you’re willing to deal with it cuz you just want to edit your song.
In windows, I click “Sony Vegas 7″.
Windows- for people who get things done.
