Hi, I am thinking … Hi, I am thinking about buying this laptop sometime in the near future and I would appreciate it if you could tell how well the video card works as far as gaming. I realize its not the best for gaming but I need a video card that can run games on a mid-range gaming experience level. Thank You and hope to hear from you soon.
I put XP, Media … I put XP, Media Center and Professional on it, and I could not get hardly any drivers for it. I worked for many days with it, and could not get anything. I’m sorry, but I cannot help. I’d Google it? I’m sure you’ve already done that, sorry. Good luck.
Hey, I have the … Hey, I have the very same laptop. I recently downgraded it to XP without thinking about the consequences… is there any way to get the drivers for the wifi and sound card for XP?
Upon booting up the … Upon booting up the system press F10 (I think) and you can go from there and change the video RAM from 32mb to 64mb to 128mb. By default it is set to 64mb. Try that.
hey i got a dell … hey i got a dell insprioni 1525 with 3g ram and 250g hard drive and it flies that laptop is like mine just from a different company nice choice man.
Hey, no problem. … Hey, no problem. I’m glad I could help! You will not be disappointed! It will run Vista great, and hopefully (probably) all your apps too. Good luck!
THANKS! cause I … THANKS! cause I really need a fast notebook that can handle windows Vista and software like matlab, or autocad, and not getting so slow in the process. Besides I don’t want to downgrade to XP since it’s kinda tedious to look for XP drivers… I think I will go for that HP dv6809wm, thanks!
I dont like Acers, … I dont like Acers, because, at least most of them, or all the ones I’ve ever seen, do not look and feel quality to me. But anyways, the Dv6809 (or about any HP Pavilion) is definitely the way to go. :}
This notebook … This notebook handles Windows Vista REALLY Well. I highly recommend it. It takes about 50 seconds to boot, and 10 to shut down, but that can vary depending on what stuff you have on your computer. (Like programs and software) The battery lasts about 3.5 hours, which is really good for a laptop. I would definitely go for this. I just looked at the HP 530, and this machine is quite a bit better, at least I think. So, I would go for the HP Pavilion Dv6809wm, by far. I just dont like Acers.
how does this … how does this notebook handle windows vista ??? slow or pretty fast?
How much does it take too boot and shut down? How much does last the battery ???
Cause I’m trying to decide between this or the HP 530 o Acer 4720… thx
The video as in the … The video as in the video card? It’s not that good, it’s choppy in Windows. It will handle Windows Vista fine, but chess is choppy. Watching movies is fine, though.
I have a video … I have a video coming up on how to personalize the nVidia graphics card so it really, really looks great and performs better. Please keep an eye out for that and watch it once I get a chance to upload that. The screen looks soooo good with the settings I use.
I have a video … I have a video coming up on how to personalize the nVidia graphics card so it’s a lot better and really does look fantastic. Please keep an eye out for that.
Thanks, I’m in high … Thanks, I’m in high school now and I use it for that, and it’s definitely good. The internet is perfect, as long as you have a good connection to connect to. It’s not always the laptop that determines how fast it is. The graphics card is the worst thing about it. It’s fine with Windows, but any gaming would be very difficult. But is a very good machine for school, or just about anything.
AWESOME VID! and … AWESOME VID! and also i have a question.
im saving my money for that laptop (690 bucks at wal-mart) and i just wanted to know ,
is it realy worth it? like is the internet fast cuz im going into highschool and i need to get a fast working laptop.
and also isnt the graphix card nvidia?
For connecting … For connecting wirelessly: the WALL>to the MODEM>to the ROUTER. Then go to the computer, find your wireless network and connect to it.
For connecting with a wire: the WALL>to the MODEM>to the ROUTER>to the LAPTOP. Your computer should automatically connect to your internet if you plugged in your cable right and everything is working, which is should.
