I have asked advice about a few refurbished laptops and people keep telling me not to pay more than 50 -100 pounds for them. I’ve searched everywhere on the internet and even the really old rubbish ones are selling at over 130 pounds so where am I supposed to find these cheap refurbished laptops that people wouldn’t pay more than 100 pounds for?
Not one under 205 pounds on that overstock page.

DSGI Group, the owners of Dixons, Currys, PC World, etc do refurbished laptops which are excellent quality products. They’re only refurbished in that, they were sold to a customer, the customer took the laptop out of it’s box, didn’t like it and wanted to return it or found a minor fault and returned it to the shop. The laptop was checked, repaired, repackaged and now being sold as a refurbished laptop. I have purchased two refurbished HP’s from PC World and both have been great.

Alternatively I used Google Shopping (Froogle) to find refurb laptops.

To do this, go to the Google Shopping site:

Type in refurbished laptops and click Search.

In the results, select "Sort by Price" on the right hand side, then scroll through the pages until you see the laptops for sale.

The cheapest laptop I saw was £135.00.

It’s important to make sure you read up on the seller of the laptops. Google conveniently suppies a "Seller Rating" to help you read up on the seller. Avoid buying from Ebay.

I’ve never had a laptop because my parents dont want to spend that much money on something they dont think i need. i have to use a desktop computer and its very frustrating becasue everyone is always passing by and talking to me and making noise and i cant get work done. so im trying to find a really cheap laptop, that isnt shitty, and comes from a reliable website/store. not a netbook pleaseee, my sister has one and theyre no good. any ideas?

I will recommend you that you can get a good refurbished laptop with extremely low price tag on it.

Apart from these I will say that these refurbished laptops comes with good option in specifications as well in physical condition too.

Wal-Mart and Best Buy should have everything you need. You can find NetBooks for around $200-300 Dollars which are perfect for typing and Surfing the Web but they don’t have a Disk Drive, meaning you can’t Play, Read, or Write, CDs or DVDs. One that I recomend Is this, Its from HP, it’s got a Large Screen, plenty of Storage Space, a Disk Drive, and it can type Documents with Microsoft Office, and Surf the Web. How much is it? Depending in the Store $500 Dollars. It’s perfect for a Basic PC user. And just in case you need any extra Features it should be able to do or run them. I like NetBooks and they are Cheap, but the Overall quality of them are not to great.

You wouldn’t get much for it, maybe $50-$100. As for cheap laptlaptops, depends on what you want it for, if you’re not a gamer, then even an Acer Aspire 5515 / eMachines E620 would do the job just fine. Just make sure you remove the infection known as Vista Home Basic and put XP or Windows 7 on instead.

The only ones that comes with Word are Dells. But they rip you off by charging for you anyways.
